The rock legend’s daughter said she was sexually abused at the age of 10

Another shocking revelation from Lisa Marie Presley’s memoir, ‘From Here to the Great Unknown’, has recently come to light.

In her posthumous book, the late daughter of rock legend Elvis Presley revealed she was abused by mother Priscilla Presley’s boyfriend, actor and model Michael Edwards, when she was just 10 years old.

Lisa Marie Presley, whose book was completed with the help of daughter Riley Keough, wrote that she was asleep when Edwards entered her room.

She writes that Edwards – who has denied her claims – came into her room at night when she was a child and, as she grew older, “touched me and hit me,” often to the point of bruising.

Edwards, 80, dated Priscilla Presley, 79, for about six years in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

The first time the attack happened, according to Presley, she was ten and “he would wake up on his knees next to my bed, running his finger up and down my leg under the sheets, and if I moved he would stop – so I moved.” .”

She went on to write that Edwards even told her that he was “going to teach me what was going to happen when I got older” and that he put a hand between her legs and “kissed her gently” before leaving her room.

The next day the young girl told her mother what had happened. Later, Priscilla Presley told her daughter that Edwards wanted to apologize.

“Edwards was sitting on their bed looking very sullen and grumpy,” Presley recalled in the book. “He said, ‘I’m so sorry, but in Europe that’s how they teach the kids, so that’s what I was doing.’ I didn’t know what to say. I would always feel sorry for him if he apologized. Eventually it got to the point where he was touching me and hitting me, telling me not to look – ‘Don’t look at me,’ he said, ‘don’t turn your head away’.”

Despite the apology, Presley wrote that the inappropriate sexual behavior continued and that she once showed her mother her bruised buttocks, and that the “Mommie Dearest” actor excused his behavior by saying he was drunk or that Lisa Marie Presley was “actually the flirting’ was with him.

Lisa Marie Presley also added that Edwards had a “terrible temper” and once threw a dining room chair at her, which hit her in the back.

In a statement shared with People, Edwards said Lisa Marie Presley’s claims were “absolutely untrue.”

“I never abused Lisa Marie and I am appalled by the suggestion that I did,” he said. “I was encouraged to embellish an innocent anecdote about Lisa Marie in my 1980s memoir and now regret it. I understand that these stories sell books, but the idea that I abused Lisa Marie is just a fabrication.”

Edwards wrote about his relationship with Priscilla Presley in his 1988 book ‘Priscilla, Elvis and Me’. In the book, he recalled being sexually attracted to Lisa Marie Presley when she was a child.

In one passage from the book, he recalled a “disturbing” afternoon spent in the pool with Lisa Marie Presley, during which she “innocently threw her arms around me and we were jumping up and down.”

“I got excited,” Edwards wrote. “A nauseous feeling slowly crept into my stomach. I wanted Lisa sexually.”

Edward’s daughter, Caroline Van Zandt, also shared a statement with People, revealing that she and Lisa Marie Presley were “good friends” when their parents were still an item.

“We were confidantes, like sisters, who shared all our secrets and complained about our parents like typical teenagers do,” Van Zandt said in the statement. “I have kept many notes and letters from Lisa Marie over those years and she never said or insinuated that my father touched her inappropriately.

“When she told me that my father came into her room, we discussed the problem as a family and resolved it,” she continued. “Those who know Priscilla and her fierce protection of her family understand that she would never have tolerated such behavior. I am disappointed and saddened that these claims are being made.”

In 2003, Presley briefly addressed Edwards’ inappropriate behavior toward her in an interview with Playboy.

“I know he wrote a book and said he longed for my developing body when I got out of a pool,” she said. “He made his attempts to enter my room and behave inappropriately while he was drunk.”
