Commerce City man caught in child predator sting gets probation

A Commerce City man who was caught trying to solicit a child for sex during an undercover operation has been sentenced to probation and six years of deferred prison.

Daniel Goodfield, 40, pleaded guilty to patronizing a prostituted child, soliciting child prostitution and soliciting or attempting cybercrime, all felonies, after contacting Larimer County Sheriff’s Office investigators posing as a minor online sex workers.

Goodfield negotiated to have sex with two girls, including a 14-year-old, and was arrested in March while traveling to a hotel in Larimer County, the office said in a news release.
