Canton mother talks about teen harassment and threats to babies caught on camera

A Canton mother is speaking out after two teens harassed her and threatened her 11-month-old daughter.

It happened on September 29 as Lydia was walking along the waterfront in Canton.

She saw two youths verbally assaulting another mother and her young daughter.

Lydia thought things were about to escalate and took out her phone to take a photo of the young people.

“You see like all the Facebook neighborhood groups, um, you know, does anyone have any photos, does anyone have any photos of how this happened and we were attacked,” Lydia said.

At that point, the two youths started yelling at Lydia to delete the photo and started following her.

They then made threats against Lydia’s daughter.

“They threatened her and harassed her and said, you know, you’re lucky we don’t break your baby’s neck and a bunch of other things,” Lydia said.

Lydia tried to escape by walking into Bayside Cantina.

However, the youths followed her inside and continued to harass her.

Fox45 obtained surveillance footage of the two almost chasing Lydia inside before staff forced them out.

“You look in their eyes, it was, I think they were very mature and it seemed like they were very serious about what they were saying,” Lydia said.

Baltimore police were called to the scene, but it is unclear if any arrests have been made.

However, under current juvenile law, based on how young they looked, the two would likely have been sent to live with their parents.
