Technician from Hyderabad ends life over dowry harassment

Hyderabad: A 30-year-old software engineer, Supriya Reddy, allegedly died by suicide at her residence due to dowry harassment by her husband M. Raghander Reddy, KPHB police said on Friday. The police have registered a case based on a complaint by her mother Ravula Kavitha, an RTC conductor. She said she gave the couple 25 tolas of gold and Rs 20 lakh cash at the time of marriage, but the Raghander Reddy wanted more.

Karkhana police arrest serial burglar, seize gold and silver jewellery

Hyderabad: Karkhana police arrested Mohammed Avez Ahmed for committing a series of burglaries and seized 123 grams of gold jewellery, 202 grams of silver jewellery, Rs 5,000 cash and a mobile phone from him, north zone DCP S. Rashmi Perumal said. He explored locked houses during the day and robbed them at night.
