Diddy’s lawyer says eating is “probably the hardest part” of his life in prison

While Diddy sits in jail awaiting trial on federal charges, his attorney says the hardest part of being behind bars is eating. “I think the food is probably the toughest part,” Marc Agnifilo, Combs’ attorney, told reporters Thursday outside a federal courthouse in Manhattan after a status conference.

Combs is currently housed at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. Previously, PEOPLE reported that his days start at 6 a.m. with a breakfast of cereal, fruit, and gingerbread. Lunch is served at 11 a.m. on weekdays and dinner is served after prison officials complete their staffing at 4 p.m.

Lunch entrees include foods such as burgers, fried fish, or beef tacos. On weekends, you can switch to scrambled eggs and cookies. The dinner menu includes chicken fajitas, pasta and roast beef. The prison also serves ‘heart healthy’ and vegetarian menus such as lentils, tofu and baked beans.

On September 16, Combs was arrested in a New York City hotel lobby. In a federal indictment, prosecutors accused the 54-year-old of forcing women to participate in sexual performances, allegedly called “Freak Offs,” with male commercial sex workers. Combs is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn without bail and under suicide watch, which is common for high-profile inmates and not necessarily indicative of his mental state.

The “I’ll Be Missing You” rapper has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him, and Agnifilo is fervent in their legal team’s belief that Diddy is innocent. “Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts,” Agnifilo told reporters after he was denied bail. “These are the actions of an innocent man who has nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”

Combs’ trial date is set for May 5, 2025.
