The speeding driver who killed a retired soldier in a Cumberland County crash will hear his sentence

A driver who was late for a meeting and who struck and killed a former state trooper in a crash on a Cumberland County road was sentenced this week to three years of probation.

The first two years of probation for Mackenzie Hilsinger, 33, will be supervised, while the final year will be unsupervised.

Hilsinger struck and killed a vehicle driven by Gregory Maloni, 78, a retired state trooper on September 4, 2023 – Labor Day.
