Authorities say police received a call in September from someone saying he had killed everyone in the house. Officers arriving on the scene quickly realized the call was an attempt to get multiple first responders to rush to the scene.

Police said the investigation identified Devin O’Leary, a 34-year-old from Commerce Township, as the suspected caller. He was taken into custody and charged with filing a false report of a crime.

His bond was set at $50,000. If convicted, O’Leary faces up to four years behind bars.
