OBGYN faces 3 dozen lawsuits alleging sexual assault and harassment

LOS ANGELESA new lawsuit has been filed with more than a hundred pages of disturbing allegations against Dr. Barry Brock, a former obstetrician who practiced at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and had offices in Beverly Hills.

Anthony DiPietro, an attorney representing more than 35 women, stated, “He seemed to enjoy inflicting pain in different ways.” DiPietro, along with attorney Mike Arias, filed multiple complaints on behalf of the women alleging sexual harassment and assault by Dr. Brock.

Arias, co-counsel for the plaintiffs, highlighted troubling behavior: Inappropriate questions, inappropriate comments, unnecessary tests, taking exams without gloves.”

Among the claims, the lawsuit mentions an incident in which Dr. Brock allegedly said to a patient during an unnecessary breast exam, “You have perfect breasts. Is your husband telling you that?” In another case, a plaintiff, also referred to as “Jane Doe,” claims that Dr. Brock entered her labor and delivery room with an erection and placed her foot on it.

The lawsuit also accuses Dr. Brock of performing postpartum “vaginal rejuvenations” without consent, allegedly saying, “I’m going to sew her up virgin.”

DiPietro described the actions as “female genital mutilation”, claiming that Dr. Brock that was “deforming women.”

On the other hand, Tracy Green, the lawyer who represented Dr. Brock represents, the claims are strongly refuted. Green said: These are outright lies. Some of these accusations are complete distortions of what he said. It never happened.”

Green believes the lawsuit is financially motivated and claims the lawyers actively recruited women to build a case against Dr. to build up Brock.

Green added: “This is about money, and there is a lot of money in the plaintiffs’ law offices.” She suggested that the narrative being built against her client is misleading: “They started recruiting and advertising, to feed this false narrative – this is sexual assault… Oh, that was a swab test? Do you think that was necessary? That’s abuse.”

In response, attorneys DiPietro and Arias claim that their clients are determined to stand up for their rights and ensure that no other woman falls victim to similar actions.

DiPietro stated: These women have been wronged in the most horrific and egregious ways by someone who appears to be not only a serial sexual predator, but perhaps even a sociopath.”

Cedars-Sinai released the following statement:

“The kind of behavior that Dr. Barry Brock is alleged to be contrary to Cedars-Sinai’s core values and the trust we work to earn with our patients every day. Dr. Brock is no longer privileged to practice medicine at Cedars-Sinai, and we have reported this matter to the California Medical Board. We recognize that the legal process must now take its course, and we remain committed to Cedars-Sinai’s sacred healing mission and serving our community.”
