High school coach suspected of inappropriate contact with students arrested

A 27-year-old high school coach suspected of inappropriate contact with students was taken into custody Thursday in Perris.

Jesse Gonsalez Lopez was arrested Thursday on suspicion of child annoyance, sexual arousal and lewd and lascivious acts with a minor after investigators linked the coach to allegations made against him in August when officers responded to the 100 block of Nuevo Road, according to the Police. Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Lopez was placed on administrative leave as investigators with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit conducted an ongoing investigation into the allegations.
