Elderly couple harassed by children over property and die by suicide in Rajasthan

NAGAUR: An elderly couple died by suicide at their home in Nagaur, Rajasthan, allegedly due to harassment by their children property disputes, police said
The couple’s bodies were discovered on Thursday in a water tank in their home, police said.

Authorities also found a suicide note on the walls of the house, which claimed the couple’s sons and daughters-in-law were “harassing them over property.”
“In the morning, their son called the police station and said the neighbors say there has been no movement between his mother and father for the past two days and he thinks they may have taken an extreme step,” Narayan Togas said. Superintendent of Police, Nagaur.
“Police reached the spot, searched the nearby places and found their bodies in a tank. Post-mortem will be done. There was a suicide note pasted on the wall and according to that, it seems to be a family issue,” he said. added.
The police have started a further investigation into the case.
