Martha Stewart revealed she cheated on her ex-husband

Her new documentary isn’t even out yet and she’s spilling the tea.

Martha Stewart is getting the documentary treatment thanks to Netflix and RJ Cutler, who you may recognize from his work on the film Fashion documentary, The September issueand Billie Eilish’s documentary, Billie Eilish: The world is a little blurry. And while Marta won’t hit the streamer until October 30, Netflix today shared a trailer already teasing the beloved lifestyle superstar.

In the clip, Stewart opened up about being unfaithful to her ex-husband, Andy Stewart. The two married in 1961 and had a daughter together, Alexis. Martha and Andy eventually divorced in 1990.

“Young women, listen to my advice. If you’re married and your husband starts cheating on you, he’s a piece of shit,” Martha said. “Get out of that marriage.”

You hear a producer ask, “Didn’t you have an affair early on?”

Martha replied, “Yes, but I don’t think Andy ever knew about that.”

Martha spoke out about the divorce in 2020, saying that it was a big deal to actually go through with it because she was the first person in her family to divorce her husband and basically had no contact with her ex after it was happened.

“Divorce was a terrible thing for me because we were the first in my family to get divorced,” she said People. “And the fact that we haven’t spoken to each other since the divorce is even more painful. But I am very strong and very motivated to continue with life.”

Marta will chronicle the life of Martha Stewart, starting with her teenage years as a model, until she became the “United States’ first self-made, female billionaire,” and her time in federal prison. In the trailer, she responds to that milestone (the billionaire part, not the prison stint) with her signature mix of humility and sarcasm.

“How does it feel to be the first female, self-made billionaire in American history?” she asked the audience. Her answer to the seemingly rhetorical question? Just a big smile.

“I’m strict and demanding and I’m all those good things that make a successful person,” she added in a voiceover.
