What happened in episode eight of Love Is Blind?

At the end of episode eight, we see fellow bride Taylor comforting Monica after something unknown happens. It then turns out that Stephen had sent sexually explicit text messages to another woman while he was in the middle of a sleep study.

Taylor was in tears as she hugged Monica, and then Stephen entered the room. Taylor leaves and the couple sits down.

Monica told Stephen the messages were “disgusting”, and he said she was “right”. She then asked him if he was actually at a sleep clinic as he claimed to be, which he said he was.

Stephen continued, “Monica, I wasn’t pretending. I made a completely stupid mistake when I was drunk during a sleep test with someone who texted me.” Monica then claimed that he had texted the woman that day, which Stephen denied, saying he had deleted the messages, and that it was a “stupid decision” to text the woman.

He then said his actions were based on what happened in their conversation the night before, in which Monica had said she now no longer wanted to have sex with Stephen after he admitted he wasn’t 100 percent sure about his marriage.

Monica was hurt by his comment and told him, “Don’t blame me for being mean at all.” Stephen said he took full responsibility for what happened and left the show.

In a now iconic moment, Monica asked Stephen to immediately give her the money she had given him, and which he had also sent.

Stephen then apologized for wasting Monica’s time and for coming on the show.

How did Monica find out about the deception?

This is not the case Big brotherand so Monica’s discovery of the text messages was not caught on camera, but she has since revealed exactly how she found out.

Speak with Entertainment weeklyMonica revealed that she had seen the messages completely by chance. Earlier that day, Taylor and Garrett had texted the group to say they would be delivering cakes later that evening.

Cut to later that night and when Stephen comes to the bathroom, his phone lights up with a text from Garrett about the baked goods and so without thinking anything of it, Monica went to Stephen’s phone to see the message from Garrett. However, underneath Garrett’s text were the other woman’s messages.

“I was looking through his text messages, and there was one in the top right under Garrett with a girl’s name, and I could see some text, and it was just… yeah,” Monica explained. “It was such a quick decision, but I was like, ‘Push,’ and yeah, I saw a bunch of text messages.”

Although Monica doesn’t remember the woman’s name, she said she remembers the context of the messages. She claimed that someone said, “No one has ever been able to satisfy my kinks like you do.”

What did Stephen say about the deception?

Since the episodes were released yesterday (October 9), Stephen has been talking about the show on his social media.

Yesterday, he posted some behind-the-scenes photos with Monica to his Instagram and wrote the following caption: “You know, this is a show that relies on contextual clues and is meant not to judge a book by its cover.
