Lupita Nyong’o confirms she is single after romance with Joshua Jackson

Lupita Nyong’o and Joshua Jackson’s steamy romance has cooled.

The “Black Panther” star revealed she is single while discussing her cat, Yoyo, in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar UK published Wednesday.

“My love for my cat is unique. If I am ever so lucky to be in a romantic relationship again, it will be thanks to him,” she said.

“I was ready to close that door, lock it, and lock it. He has kept my heart open.”

Page Six has reached out to Jackson’s rep for comment.

Nyong’o adopted Yoyo from the Best Friends Animal Society in October 2023 after she and sports commentator Selema Masekela split.

Coincidentally, she and Jackson were first linked that month when they were spotted at a Janelle Monáe concert in Los Angeles.

The pair confirmed their romance when they held hands during a walk in Joshua Tree, California, in December 2023.

They proved their relationship was more than just a fling when they kissed passionately on the beach in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, while celebrating Nyong’o’s 41st birthday in March this year.

Jackson, 46, was also recently single. His estranged wife, Jodie Turner-Smith, filed for divorce in October 2023 after four years of marriage.

The 38-year-old “Queen & Slim” star broke her silence on her ex’s new relationship in June, saying, “I really hope they are happy and it benefits us as a family.”

Although Nyong’o didn’t mention her relationship with Jackson during a conversation with Harper’s Bazaar UK, she did reflect on her public split from Masekela.

“It’s hard enough going through heartbreak alone,” the Oscar winner said.

“If the world has an image of you in relation to someone else, it prolongs the healing process because the memory is glorified in the public domain.”

After she and Masekela called it quits, Nyong’o admitted that she was “in a period of heartbreak over a love that was suddenly and devastatingly extinguished by deceit.”

She also stated that she “could no longer trust” her ex.
