Trackhouse Racing confirms the surprise departure of its partner, Ty Norris, who will move to Kaulig Racing as Commercial Director with immediate effect.

Justin Marks, co-founder of Trackhouse Racing, acknowledged Norris’ departure with an emotional message on social media. He wrote:

“This kid is the best at team building. His hard work, commitment and dedication will forever be reflected in Trackhouse as we grow and continue to do amazing things. Best of all, I made a great friend who will always be my friend. Thanks, Tyrone.”

Kaulig Racing has also officially announced Norris’ appointment, stating:

“Today, Kaulig Racing announces the addition of NASCAR industry veteran Ty Norris to the team. Norris will serve as the team’s chief business officer and will focus on long-term strategy and partnerships alongside owner Matt Kaulig and team president Chris Rice.

“Adding Norris and his wealth of knowledge to the executive team is one of several important steps Kaulig and Rice are taking to solidify the trajectory of their NASCAR Cup Series program into the future.”

Norris’ impressive resume spans more than two decades, during which he played pivotal roles at Dale Earnhardt Inc. from 1996-2004, briefly at Speedway Motorsports Inc., nearly a decade at Michael Waltrip Racing (MWR) and most recently at Spire Sports + Entertainment and Trackhouse Racing. Notably, Norris was instrumental in steering Trackhouse Racing since its founding on the remains of Chip Ganassi Racing in 2021, helping to establish it as a competitive force in the NASCAR Cup Series.

The recent collaboration between Trackhouse Racing and Kaulig included significant moves such as a crew chief change involving Daniel Suarez’s team and preparing Shane van Gisbergen for a full-time move to the Cup Series.

The implications of Norris’ departure from Trackhouse Racing and his new role at Kaulig Racing will become more apparent as the racing season progresses.
